CHAPEL

Spiritual Needs

Our primary focus is to meet the spiritual needs of the residents. Most of the residents enter the Work Release Centers completely in the dark about who God is, how much He loves them and what He has done in order to redeem them.

God’s Word

We are passionate about bringing light into their darkness by sharing God’s Word with the men and women at our Work Release Centers. We give out more than 100 Bibles annually at our men’s Work Release Facility alone!

We use the Word of God to teach the residents about the gospel and how to receive God’s offer of forgiveness.

Teaching and Worship

At Fort Des Moines
Our Chaplain Tony Didlo holds a chapel service and Bible studies on Tuesday nights with the men at our Fort Des Moines facility.

At Fresh Start
Our Assistant Chaplain Shonna Swain has Bible study every Sunday evening for the women living at our Fresh Start Center. Shonna also meets one-to-one with the women hungry for more study. A local church picks up the ladies so they can attend their Sunday service.

MENTORING

One-to-One

Our Chaplain Tony Didlo and Assistant Chaplain Shonna Swain meet one-to-one with the residents for personal mentoring if they are in need of help.

Life Challenges

Tony and Shonna pray with the residents, listen to their concerns and offer Biblical wisdom to help them deal with their life challenges. As a Christian ministry, we believe that Scripture has been given to us by our Creator. Therefore, the Bible is the objective source for moral standards and is sufficient for addressing every life dilemma and issue of the heart.

Heart Issues

If someone is straying, we stay away from simply recommending behavioral modifications, which tend to be only skin deep and short-lasting. Instead we help our residents look at the issues of the heart which are ultimately responsible for shaping their thoughts, words, and choices.

LOCAL CHURCH

The Church

Our desire is to connect the men and women with local churches to further their discipleship.
